This post is mostly directed toward those who don't know TASK very well.
THE HISTORY: TASK began in January of 1982 and began in the basement of a Trenton church. The amount of hungry people was staggering, and as the clientele grew, the basement was no longer big enough. However in 1986, TASK moved into a temporary space provided by the Salvation Army. In 1987 a fund raising mission began, and from that mission came TASK current and permanent facility.
THE MISSION: TASK exists to feed the hungry in the Trenton Area, but more then that, TASK provides services to help better the life of those who come to it's doors.
PROGRAMS: On top of serving food, TASK also offers a adult tutoring program, where adults can come and be tutored in literacy, math, GED Prep and computer skills. Along with tutoring, TASK provides services that promote self-sufficiency: there is a full-time social worker, medical services, legal services and MORE provided to the patrons. Finally, TASK also provides fun programs during holiday times, like a Thanksgiving and Christmas dinner, and even an Spring Egg Hunt for the kiddies!
